Lovin' It

I can't tell you how much Nathan and Ryan have been lovin' seeing themselves on our blog! They just think it is really cool. They still take joy in the little things. Nathan REALLY loves to see how many comments "he" gets on the posts about him or Ryan and him. He will ask me..... "Did I get any more comments, Mommy? How many do I have now?" So....... for all of you readers..... visitors or whatever..... feel free to leave comments to make Nathan's day! He grins from ear to ear reading them, giggles a little and counts how many more he has than other posts. So see, this has turned into a learning tool.....a little Math can't hurt! Who knows, maybe I'll let him type his own post!

Proud Parents of a Published Author!

Nathan's first grade class wrote a book titled, "If I Could Be The President..." They went through the entire writing process. I help out in Nathan's classroom every Friday. One particular Friday I sat with the kids as they drew their picture and copied their final draft in their best handwritng. I got so tickled while Nathan was drawing his picture. He was telling me all about it as he drew. What you see is the White House hallways (long orange things) and various rooms....if he were President. He has a picture of him playing Lego Star Wars on the Play Station, there is another of him working out "getting exrsis (exercise)." Unfortunately, you can't see the funniest part! (The edge in the binding cuts it off.) In the bottom right hand corner..... there is someone on the potty in the bathroom. Oh, and the upper right hand corner shows him in his office.

He has a wonderful teacher this year. We are so proud of him and his class book that we will treasure!

I finally got them made!

We have new pillows for our couch and chair in the bonus room. About 9 months ago we got furniture for the bonus room. Little by little, we are getting it finished..... decorated and all. I bought the fabric (floral) to make pillows a few months ago. Monday, I got them finished. I love the fabric. Here's a peek of what they look like.

Resurrection Rolls

Okay, I know some of you got this recipe too. The one for Resurrection Rolls! Well, I thought they sounded A LOT tastier than the Easter Story cookies. So this year I planned for Nathan and me to make the rolls. So..... Sunday morning, before heading to church, Nathan came down to help me. We got out the ingredients and I started sharing with Nathan what we were going to do and what each ingredient represented.


Crescent rolls..... the cloth they wrapped Jesus' body in
Large marshmallow...... represented Jesus, white for sinless
Butter...... represented the oils of embalming
Cinnamon and Sugar...... represented the spices that anointed His body
The oven represented the tomb.

Now, you need to know...... Nathan really likes marshmallows. So as we are going through the recipe Nathan asks, "What is going to happen with the marshmallow? Will it melt?" Me, not wanting to spoil the surprise.....I reply, "Oh, we will have to wait and see!" Nathan, "Oh, I really hope they don't melt 'cause I want to eat them. I love marshmallows!" So we continue to make the yummy rolls. They bake and I removed them from the oven. They needed to cool slightly, so I headed upstairs to get ready for church. A little later, Jason went downstairs to get the boys breakfast and gave them each a resurrection roll. Here is how it went:

N: "What's inside?"
J: "Let's cut it open and see."
N: "Uh,Dad, there's still marshmallow."

J: "Umm..... well.... what should have happened, the marshmallow should have melted completely so it was empty just like the tomb after Jesus rose from the dead!"

N: "Jesus melted?"

How do you answer that!? Ok, so I have no clue what happened. In the one I ate, there was no marshmallow left. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Nathan got his wish though.... marshmallow to eat! No one said recipes can't fail you. I know Jesus doesn't and that's all that matters!! Never mind the marshmallow. I KNOW I serve a risen Savior.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Saturday we went to a local park for a BIG egg hunt. The place was packed with eggs and kids. Besides an egg hunt they had arts and crafts, games and karaoke.

Here they are doing an egg toss with raw eggs. That made me a little nervous, but they thankfully didn't get messy. That's a mom for you, huh? Ryan has an arm! After a few throws to his Spider Man partner, he whacked his buddy in the head with the egg. We all heard the egg crack! Thankfully Spider Man escaped raw egg. The ground was messy, but we didn't mind about that.

Sunday morning we headed off to church for a wonderful Easter Sunday! Our church had a

Ressurection Journey. We walked the journey and experienced different events that happened during the week leading up to Jesus' death and ressurection. It was really neat!

Once home, before lunch was ready, the boys had to hunt for eggs in our yard. They always love hunting for eggs.

Auto Show

Well as most of you know.... Jason is a huge car buff. The boys can't help but to share his love of cars. So Friday night we were off to the auto show. Every car was "Cool!!" to Ryan. He HAD to sit in EVERY seat of EVERY car. Nathan had fun looking at the cars and was especially concerned with which cars had DVD players. It was a fun evening with my boys drooling over cars!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I haven't had a chance to sit down and post in the past several days. It's been busy around here. Check back in the next day or so to see what we've been up to.

Mmm Mmm Good!

Yay! The boys ate a great dinner tonight. The only way they can get dessert is if they eat their dinner. I had made some yummy Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins for breakfast the other day and BOY... were they a hit! I mean, come on...... they are CHOCOLATE with Chocolate Chips. If you all know my boys (Jason included) they LOVE chocolate. So there were 2 left and Nathan asked for one for dessert tonight. I gave him one and he gobbled it down. Jason was going to eat the other one, but Ryan spotted it and asked for it. Jason lovingly gave up chocolate (that's HUGE) for his little one. Needless to say... Ryan ate every bit of it he could. Don't you think?

Now that they are all gone..... I guess I'll have to make some more soon!

Creeking Off!

The other day when Nathan got home from school, I took the boys to the park. It was a perfect day! Ryan even tried the swings (something he has NEVER really liked--- EVER). He loved swinging..... in my lap.

He eventually tried it on his own and was grinning from ear to ear.
After a while they wanted to go down to the creek. So off we went. We made our way around the path, to the bridge and down to the creek.

Of course the boys had to pick up sticks along the way. And who can go to the creek without throwing something in the water? They gathered rocks and leaves and tossed them in. They had a great time. I enjoyed watching them have fun. While down at the creek bank a kid asked us if we had seen a boy in a "navy black" (huh?) shirt. Nathan said, "Yep, he's over there, 'Creeking off'." I got so tickled. Nathan decided we needed to give it a try..... so we were off...... "Creeking off."

Here we go!!

We are now apart of the blogging world. I enjoy reading other blogs and have been thinking it is something we should try. I hope it will keep all of our friends and family "up-to-date" on us and happenings in our life. We shall see how this goes!
